Shannyn Garrity is a HND Media and Communications student at Forth Valley College. Originally with a passion for childcare, Shannyn found some of her inspiration to study media from creating activities for her classes. As well as this, a big inspiration for her was the 2005 Pooh’s Heffalump Movie – Winnie the Pooh’s adventure that first exposed Shannyn to her love of movies and the cinema. Furthermore, frequent visits to the extravagant pantomimes encouraged Shannyn’s love of the theatre. 

 

Outwith studying, Shannyn enjoys reading, listening to podcasts and getting lost in the woods. Historical Callendar House and Park is a favourite stop off, giving plenty of opportunities to wonder about completing various lengthy walks around Scotland. With a growing sense of adventure, Shannyn is competing to divide her attention between studying and travelling. For the moment, she is settling with taking photographs while out and about. 

 

A love of Enid Blyton was instilled from a young age – a love of an author passed down through the generations – leading to a love of reading and exploring different genres, eventually landing on all things spooky. Shannyn’s love of books lead to her wishfully starting (and abandoning) several book projects in the hopes of one day becoming an author. Shannyn hopes to return one day return to this dream.
